Summary
Ethic Tech, LLC is seeking a Temporary Security Specialist to provide physical, industrial, operational, and information security support for a government customer. This is a three-month temporary assignment with the potential for extension based on contract requirements and organizational needs.
The selected candidate must possess an active Secret security clearance. The Security Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert in physical security programs, access control, risk assessments, key control administration, and security compliance while ensuring adherence to Department of Defense (DoD) regulations and Army security requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct physical security inspections, assessments, and risk vulnerability evaluations of facilities, systems, and operations.
- Evaluate existing security procedures, policies, and practices to ensure compliance with established standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop recommendations and corrective actions to mitigate identified security vulnerabilities and risks.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of physical security policies, procedures, and standards consistent with higher headquarters directives and regulatory requirements.
- Draft and revise security policies, procedures, and guidance based on applicable Government regulations and organizational requirements.
- Provide training, guidance, and technical assistance to personnel responsible for executing physical security responsibilities.
- Administer and maintain the organization's key control program, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and best practices.
- Assist management in evaluating requests for employee and visitor facility access and authorize access in accordance with established security procedures.
- Manage and administer access control systems, including manual and electronic security systems (ESS), controlled entry points, and gates.
- Conduct quarterly reviews and audits of electronic security system access permissions in coordination with Directorate Security Specialists.
- Process visit requests and provide access control support for personnel requiring facility or test area access.
- Maintain security records, reports, and documentation required to support compliance inspections and audits.
- Provide recommendations to leadership regarding security program improvements, risk mitigation measures, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience directly related to physical, industrial, operational, and/or information security.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying Department of Defense security regulations, policies, and guidance.
- Experience drafting organizational-level security policies and procedures based on Government security regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate security requirements to personnel at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience utilizing the Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
- Experience using SharePoint for document management and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Electronic Security Systems (ESS), particularly Lenel S2.
- Subject matter expertise in:
- Army Regulation (AR) 190-13, The Army Physical Security Program
- Army Regulation (AR) 190-51, Security of Unclassified Army Property (Sensitive and Nonsensitive)
- Prior physical security experience as a civilian employee or military member within one of the U.S. Armed Forces.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to assess security risks and develop practical mitigation strategies.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information.
- Ability to interact professionally with government personnel, contractors, visitors, and senior leadership.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to conduct facility inspections and assessments throughout assigned work areas.
- Ability to move throughout office, industrial, and operational environments.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
