Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide specialized patient care in a cardiac stepdown unit, delivering critical nursing support to those recovering from cardiac events or procedures. This travel role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a supportive team dedicated to cardiac care.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage a patient ratio of approximately 1:4 to 1:5 in a 42-bed cardiac progressive care unit.
  • Administer direct nursing care to cardiac patients, including monitoring vital signs and responding to changes in condition.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Utilize EMR systems, specifically EPIC, for accurate documentation and communication.
  • Participate in float assignments within a 25-mile radius as needed, maintaining flexibility and adaptability.
  • Adhere to infection control practices and professional dress code, including navy blue scrubs.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Registered Nurse licensure with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in cardiac stepdown or progressive care nursing.
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required.
  • Proficient in cardiac care protocols and patient assessment.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work night shifts (3x12-hour shifts, 18:30 - 07:00) with every other weekend requirement.
