Job Description

As a Security Officer Medical Campus Patrol in Birmingham, AL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer in a healthcare location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This role combines routine patrols, strong communication, and customer service with a team focused on being agile, reliable, innovative, and guided by integrity.

Pay Rate: $16.75 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, assist with visitor directions, and support orderly movement throughout the location while following established post orders.
  • Document incidents, policy violations, and/or maintenance concerns, and communicate with supervisors, staff, and first responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be willing to meet hospital vaccine requirements.
  • Must be willing to work in or around a hospital morgue.
  • Must provide proof of high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Must be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
