Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Alabama, requiring a minimum of one year of recent ER experience and an AL or compact RN license, with night shifts in a high-acuity, high-volume combined adult/pediatric setting.

Details

• High-acuity, high-volume hospital emergency department serving a combined adult and pediatric population
• Patient population includes neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Skill requirements include: blood product administration, central line care/management, IV starts, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration, ortho-trauma, identifying & reporting abuse (peds), near drowning (peds), respiratory infections (peds), and seizures (peds)
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• 8-week contract

Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact RN license required; pending license will be considered
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications via AHA required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Current respirator fit test required
• CPI and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent ER experience required
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Prior permanent employees of this facility are not eligible to apply

Additional Information

• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are eligible but may be considered at a different rate
• RTO requests are limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the contract
• Hospital-provided housing is available on-site; units are shared with common spaces and private bedrooms, separated by gender — no dogs allowed; travelers coordinate directly with the facility
• The facility offers flight reimbursement for economy-class travel to and from the assignment; detailed flight and luggage receipts must be submitted for reimbursement
• Flight itinerary must be provided at least one week prior to the start date; the facility will assist with airport pickup upon arrival
