What we’re seeking:
- Valid state Special Education Teaching Certification
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in a K-12 setting
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Ability to adapt lessons to varied learning styles and needs
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff
- Innovative approaches to classroom management and student engagement
- Up-to-date knowledge of federal and state special education laws and best practices
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers and paraprofessionals to provide inclusive educational opportunities
- Conduct regular assessments and track student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued
- Communicate effectively with families and maintain detailed documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Participate in school meetings, parent conferences, and professional development
