Who We Are Looking For ​

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Scratch instructor to introduce elementary-aged children to the exciting world of coding. If you have a strong understanding of Scratch, excellent communication skills, and a knack for making complex ideas accessible and engaging for young learners, we encourage you to apply!

In this role, you will guide elementary students through the fundamentals of Scratch programming in our hands-on, collaborative classes. Our classes emphasize hands-on projects and collaborative learning, creating a fun and supportive environment where kids can develop their coding skills and unleash their creativity.

ScratchCoding — Scratch 101

*Hourly rate + Mileage Reimbursement. (MilesTraveled − 20) × $0.67)

Responsibilities

• Preparation: Familiarize yourself with course content, including slides and lecture notes
• Instruction: Teach Scratch concepts clearly and effectively, incorporating interactive activities
• Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
• Project Support: Guide students through hands-on coding projects, offering support and feedback to help them succeed.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Scratch
• Computer Science Major or similar field
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Enthusiasm for creating a fun and educational experience
• Attention to detail and professionalism
• Confidence in working with participants
• Able to represent themselves and the company professionally​

Bonus

• Experience teaching coding to youth
• Experienced working with elementary aged learners

You must have a device capable of concurrently

• Participating in the activity
• Connecting to a projector / screen
• Presenting slides
• Running the Chrome Browser

Mileage

Mileage is reimbursed at the rate of 67¢ per mile for all miles traveled above 20. Mileage is calculated from the distance Google Maps ( shows, with a reasonable variance for detours due to road or traffic conditions. Mileage reimbursement is calculated as follows: (MilesTraveled − 20) × $0.67
