Job Description
An Accounting Clerk is responsible for supporting daily financial and administrative operations within the accounting department. This role assists with processing invoices, posting payments, maintaining financial records, and ensuring accurate documentation of accounting transactions. The Accounting Clerk will work closely with internal departments and vendors to ensure accounts are updated accurately and financial information is properly recorded. Strong attention to detail, organization, and proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Process and record accounts payable invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Assist with generating and distributing customer invoices
- Post incoming payments and apply them to appropriate customer accounts
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation for accounting transactions
- Reconcile vendor statements and customer accounts to resolve discrepancies
- Monitor outstanding invoices and assist with follow-up on unpaid balances
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the accounting department
- Assist with data entry and maintaining accounting databases and spreadsheets
- Support month-end closing activities and reporting processes
- Communicate with internal departments regarding billing, invoices, and payment inquiries
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1–3 years of experience in accounting support, bookkeeping, or accounting clerk roles preferred
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment screening
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks

The base salary range for this position is $37,440–$45,760 annually, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
