Position: Prototype Technician
Location: Huntsville, AL
Type: 12+ Month Contract (Potential for Direct Hire)
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday – Friday | Onsite
Clearance Requirements: Must be authorized to work on DoD projects
Pre-Employment: Must pass drug screen and background check

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Prototype Technician to join our Product Development team in support of Department of Defense (DoD) programs. This role focuses on the development and testing of trailer-mounted power and water purification systems. You’ll work closely with design engineers and manufacturing teams to bring innovative products from concept to prototype.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support prototype builds and testing for trailer power and water purification systems

• Perform mechanical assembly using commercial-grade materials and components

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation

• Provide hands-on feedback to engineers to improve design for manufacturability and assembly

• Assist in troubleshooting, repair, and performance testing of prototypes

• Identify and suggest process or product improvements as part of a continuous improvement culture

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with mechanical tools and production equipment

• Familiarity with commercial-grade materials used in assembly or fabrication

• Ability to read and follow technical drawings and detailed work instructions

• Prior experience with prototype development or testing (preferred)

• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

• Effective communication and teamwork skills in a cross-functional environment

• Proactive, problem-solving mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt
