Job Overview We’re looking for a Control Systems Project Engineer to take ownership of technical delivery and quality assurance across mission-critical data center automation projects. This role blends project engineering, quality oversight, and hands-on commissioning with technologies such as SCADA, PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), and industrial networks. You’ll act as the on-site quality representative, ensuring control system installations, programming, and commissioning align with approved drawings, submittals, and client expectations. From factory acceptance testing to root-cause analysis, you’ll be the technical authority driving project success. Responsibilities Quality & Technical Oversight Develop and execute the project-specific Quality Control Plan (QCP) in line with company standards and customer requirements.Serve as the full-time QC lead on-site, conducting inspections, resolving non-conformances, and managing documentation.Perform initial, intermediate, and final inspections; log findings in ACC Build (or similar QC software).Conduct Root Cause Analyses (RCA) on system or integration issues and implement corrective actions. Engineering & Commissioning Support Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection, updating models per project execution plans.Oversee commissioning activities (Levels 1–3), working closely with third-party commissioning agents and client representatives.Lead and support FATs, start-up, and troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA applications, and field instrumentation.Verify all installed materials match approved designs and submittals, ensuring accurate as-built documentation. Customer & Team Collaboration Interpret and review P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and automation logic to confirm system performance.Provide clear updates to clients, commissioning teams, and subcontractors, ensuring alignment on quality and schedule.Mentor junior engineers and field technicians in automation quality processes and best practices.Partner with safety and project leadership to integrate QMS with site safety programs. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, or related discipline (or equivalent technical background).4+ years of control systems engineering, including 2+ years in a quality-focused or lead role.Hands-on experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens preferred), SCADA integration, and commissioning.Proven ability to manage QCPs, inspections, and project commissioning in a mission-critical or industrial setting. Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) in automation projects.Proficiency with ACC Build (or other QC tracking systems), BIM tools, and Microsoft Office.Strong decision-making and organizational skills; ability to manage competing priorities effectively.Excellent communication and client-facing skills with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset. Additional Information Travel: Up to 10% overnight for commissioning, site visits, and FATs.On-call: Minimal, based on project schedule requirements.Requirements: Must have valid work authorization and driver’s license; ability to remain fit for duty on-site.
