If you're ready to put your skills to work on projects that matter - and build a career with a company that's building North America - we want to hear from you! **ABOUT THE ROLE** The role of the Area Manager, Environmental and Public Affairs, is to provide leadership and technical expertise on sustainable environmental performance at the cement plant and assigned facilities. This includes implementation of internal environmental policies, programs, and standards while ensuring environmental compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations. The person in this role is an integral member of the facility management team and is expected to act as a role model on all safety behavior and policy compliance while helping to create and maintain a high-performance culture. **WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH** + Manage the implementation of environmental policies and practices at the assigned facilities to ensure full regulatory compliance. This includes compliance with the local permit requirements (sampling, inspections, reporting, and renewals) that may include contractor compliance and pollution prevention activities. Cement plants are heavily regulated facilities with the highest level of compliance obligations related to Clean Air Act requirements. This means the site is subject to Construction Permitting for projects as well as a Title V Operating permit. Therefore, previous experience with Title V, PSD permitting and minor construction permitting experience is desired in the candidate. It would also be desirable to have experience with NSPS and NESHAP specific to the cement industry or a related industry. + Manage and support the implementation of and compliance with all environmental-related programs at all of the assigned operations. + Facilitate environmental auditing processes and ensure effective implementation of the findings related to this activity. + Prepare environmental documentation for approval and license/permit applications for new or existing operations, ensuring they are completed accurately, completely, and on time. + Coordinate and ensure that all environmental monitoring and recordkeeping occur at each of the assigned locations. + Provide environmental training to on-site employees and contractors of the assigned facilities to ensure that they recognize their own contribution to improved environmental performance. + Provide leadership and technical expertise on regulatory requirements for current and future operations. + Assist the government affairs team in state trade association engagement (environmental scope) with two-way communication, lead with respect to environmental visibility and emerging issues, coordinating site/terminal business development opportunities with the government affairs team. + Prepare environmental-related budgets at each assigned location. + Understand and keep abreast of current with all Federal, State, and Local environmental legal requirements and monitor developments and/or changes. + Interact with community members regarding the plant's environmental aspects and ensure that an effective local Community Advisory Committee is in place. + Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. + Other duties as assigned **WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR** **Education:** Bachelor's degree **Additional Education Preferred:** Master's degree **Field of Study Preferred:** Engineering or related technical discipline. **Required Work Experience:** 7-10 years. A preference for Clean Air Act compliance experience in cement manufacturing or a related heavy industry **Required Technical Skills:** Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of software **Travel Requirements** : 20% **Additional Requirements:** + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Must demonstrate ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities. + Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret rules and regulations. + Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
