Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

• Location: Tuscaloosa, AL 35401 (Alabama healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Heart Failure / Stroke Unit (Medical Surgical Telemetry)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
• Start Date: December 8, 2025
• End Date: March 8, 2026
• Duration: 13-week nursing contract
• Shifts: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours per week available)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Open Positions: 6 travel RN jobs
• Dress Code: Solid Navy Scrubs
• Parking: Onsite parking available
• EMR: Meditech electronic medical records
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1720 - $1840

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or Compact State (no temporary licenses)
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred; will consider RNs with at least 18 months, including 1 year in Med/Surg Telemetry
• Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients with neurological and cardiac conditions, including congestive heart failure and acute stroke
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team of cardiologists, neurologists, and fellow nurses
• Manage a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Float to other medical-surgical or telemetry units and hospitals as required
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and dress code standards
• Accurately document patient care using Meditech EMR
• Work every other weekend and holidays as required by the healthcare facility
