Cable Technician II
We are seeking a skilled Structured Cabling Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cable installation, termination, and support systems in commercial environments. This role involves working in data centers and other facilities to ensure high-quality, organized, and safe cabling infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and route cable through walls and data centers using fish tape or other methods.
- Perform pre-termination procedures: organize, dress, label, and measure cable for proper slack and length.
- Secure and support cable using trays, J-hooks, D-rings, bridal rings, and trapeze systems.
- Install grounding systems for racks, equipment, and cables.
- Execute fire-stopping procedures, including installing sleeves and pulling cable through core penetrations.
- Terminate low-voltage devices.
- Interpret and follow construction prints and schematics.
- Accurately complete all required documentation (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers, etc.).
- Adhere to all company, customer, and industry safety and quality standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in universal communications color codes.
- Experience with:
- Cable pulling and structured cabling
- Rack and stack installations
- Low-voltage terminations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
