Configuration Manager

Avion Solutions Inc., a 100% employee-owned company, seeks candidates for a Configuration Manager to support Cargo PO. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Provide configuration status accounting and configuration change control for CH‑47F hardware and software configuration items.

• Deliver Configuration Management (CM) support for the Configuration Control Board (CCB), including scheduling, preparing agendas, recording minutes, issuing CCB directives, and managing related actions within the Government’s TopVue database and during in‑person sessions.

• Offer guidance in the development of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Requests for Variances (RFVs).

• Process, review, and provide approval/disapproval recommendations on ECPs, RFVs, CM Plans, configuration audit plans and reports, CDRL deliveries, and Statements of Work.

• Review Technical Data Packages for accuracy and compliance with applicable engineering and technical data standards.

• Interface with CH‑47F program contractors to provide CM guidance, monitor risks, and assess contractual compliance.

• Communicate effectively in writing and orally with CH‑47 PMO organizations, functional teams, external government agencies, and contractors to deliver CM/DM guidance and propose program alternatives and courses of action.

• Participate in and provide CM support to program meetings, working groups, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).

• Participate in and support the execution of Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs) at production contractor or subcontractor facilities.

• Support the development and refinement of Configuration Management plans and processes.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• BS in a related field.

• 12 Years of experience.

• Demonstrated experience providing configuration status accounting and configuration change control for complex hardware and software systems.

• Proven ability to review and process Engineering Change Proposals, Requests for Variances, and CM documentation.

• Experience interacting with government program offices and defense contractors.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief leadership and coordinate across diverse teams.

• Experience supporting or participating in Physical Configuration Audits.

• Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain/maintain a DoW security clearance.

• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience supporting CH‑47F or other Army Aviation platforms.

• Familiarity with the Government’s TopVue database or similar configuration management tools.

• Experience developing or updating Configuration Management plans and processes.

• Working knowledge of technical data standards and Technical Data Package review practices.

• Prior involvement with Configuration Control Boards on government programs.
