Location: Tallassee, Alabama
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Material Handler to support both shipping and receiving operations within our fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely handling of inbound and outbound materials, maintaining inventory integrity, and supporting logistics operations to meet customer expectations and internal production demands.
Key Responsibilities
Inbound Logistics & Receiving
- Coordinate and manage the flow of incoming materials and supplies to the facility
- Receive deliveries, verify packing slips and invoices against purchase orders
- Inspect goods for damage, quantity accuracy, and quality compliance
- Safely unload, label, and store inventory in designated areas
- Communicate discrepancies or damaged goods to the procurement and quality teams
Outbound Shipping & Order Fulfillment
- Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer requirements
- Ensure products are packaged safely and securely using appropriate methods and materials
- Design and construct custom shipping containers or crates for fragile or specialized items
- Generate shipping labels, commercial invoices, and bill of lading documentation
️ Inventory Support & Stock Movement
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure accurate stock availability for production and shipping
- Locate, move, and stage materials or finished goods as needed
- Assist with cycle counts and full physical inventory audits
- Update inventory records in ERP or warehouse management systems (WMS)
Administrative & Compliance Duties
- Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and shipping/export laws
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, and supply chain teams
- Support continuous improvement efforts in warehouse processes and logistics
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED); additional logistics training is a plus
- 1+ year of experience in shipping/receiving, warehousing, or logistics preferred
- Proficient with inventory management software, shipping systems, and MS Office (Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of freight, parcel, and international shipping procedures
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
