JOB TITLE: Production Team Leader

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor

JOB CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Assists with the supervision and coordination of activities for production team members. Operates and maintains production machinery and associated equipment. Helps identify, trouble shoot, and solve machine issues. Trains new operators and assist with implementing corrective actions.

Consider environmental, health & safety impact in business decisions and work with our suppliers, contractors, and customers to address mutual issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

· Ensure that all operations within the cell(s) are running at standard at all times.

· Assure that team members are adhering to standard work procedures.

· Direct activities and work assignments for all team members

· Ensure that all team members are cross trained among the different operations in the cell and are rotating among jobs specified intervals.

· Responsible for training all new team members and/or temporary employees.

· Maintains an efficient operation with adequate supply of materials.

· Monitor the performance of cell team members and provides feedback to the Production Supervisor

· Assist with troubleshooting problems within the cell and inform the Production Supervisor if additional help is needed.

· Perform minor repairs to equipment and makes adjustments as required by the Engineering or Maintenance department.

· Ensure that team members adhere to designated start and stop times during shift.

· Relieve team members as needed in order to keep cell running efficiently.

· Perform quality assurance audits of products produced within the cell and report any nonconformance findings to the Production Supervisor

· Records and reports cell production performance numbers and activities

· Ensure that all team members wear all required personal protection equipment (PPE) and abide by all safety rules.

· Report all safety issues with the Environmental Health & Safety Manager and the Production Supervisor .

· Correct any unsafe work practices within your capability .

· Replenish necessary items to the cell on a daily basis that are critical for production.

· Visually inspect finished parts for proper identification, color, surface appearance and/or damage

· Adhere to and administer all company policies pertaining to their job .

· Wear all required (PPE) and adheres to the safety policy .

· Maintains prompt, regular attendance .

· Perform other duties as directed by the Production Supervisor or Plant Manager.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

· Able to read and write English.

· Must be able distinguish (by sight, sound, touch, or other senses) whether his/her machine is operating correctly or is in a proper state of repair.

· Able to work in extreme temperatures and humid environments.

· Flexible to work extended hours and weekends.

· Able to follow through and complete assigned tasks.

· Team oriented.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and equipment. The employee may also be exposed to electrical shock when working with electrical components.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (80-90 decibels). The manufacturing area is not climate controlled and temperatures vary from 50 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit depending on outside conditions.
