Software Engineering Team Lead
Our Client is seeking a Software Engineering Team Lead to provide first-line leadership for the Core SE team. Reporting to the Regional SE Engineering Manager, this individual will oversee team performance, maintain accurate progress metrics, and support staffing activities such as interviewing, performance management, and professional development. The Team Lead must be technically proficient in the team’s work in order to review deliverables and ensure quality standards are met. Additionally, this role is responsible for defining and enforcing Core SE team processes to drive consistency and efficiency. This position combines hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, offering the opportunity to shape team success and contribute to both engineering outcomes and employee growth.
Location: Onsite in Huntsville, AL (4-10 hour shifts, Mon - Thurs)
Salary: $100,000.00 to $130,000.00
Clearance: Secret or Higher
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Experience working proposals, team building, developing and maintaining metrics, facilitating and providing training, and shaping a culture required
Experience managing System Engineers providing mentorship in the discipline a must
Being capable of working on site and with teammates from multiple companies and in geographically diverse locations is required
Familiarity with agile principles and the ability to work with different teams within an organization also a must
Experience developing prototypes and performing experiments strongly desired
Modeling and simulation experience desired
Experience within the Missile Defense Agency or with Command and Control strongly desired

8+ years of experience.
Strong System Engineering and Proven Leadership Experience required.
Experience performing system engineering for large complex systems to include requirements analysis and decomposition, Interface definition, root cause analysis, application design, integration, and test.
Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must.
Education Requirements:Education:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
CLEARANCE REQUIRMENT: Active Secret Clearance

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
