Multi Craft Maintenance Technician
The Multi Craft Maintenance Technician plays a key role in keeping manufacturing equipment operating safely and efficiently on the night shift. You will perform mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of industrial machinery, including rollers, conveyors, motors, heat elements, and automated cutters. This position supports continuous production in a fast-paced environment and requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as within a small maintenance team.
Responsibilities- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment such as rollers, conveyors, motors, heat elements, automated cutters, and related machinery to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automated systems to quickly identify root causes of equipment issues and implement effective solutions.
- Work with PLCs and basic electrical systems, including wiring, motor controllers, and circuit boards, to support equipment repairs and ongoing maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and motor control systems to ensure reliable operation of production equipment.
- Use blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to guide troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment adjustments.
- Perform welding and basic fabrication tasks as needed to support equipment repair, modification, and improvement projects.
- Assist with the installation, modification, and upgrading of equipment to support production needs and process improvements.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and equipment status in accordance with internal procedures.
- Collaborate closely with other maintenance team members and production staff to prioritize and complete urgent repairs and ongoing preventative maintenance tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations while working in a non-climate-controlled industrial environment.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and improve production efficiency.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of quality, safety, and attention to detail.
- Lift, move, and position heavy equipment and components as required to complete maintenance and repair activities.
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance with a strong emphasis on mechanical skills and electrical knowledge.
- Hands-on experience working with rollers, conveyors, motors, heat elements, and automated cutters or rollers in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and automated equipment in a production setting.
- Familiarity with PLCs, PLC troubleshooting, and motor controls for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose complex issues involving hydraulics, pneumatics, and motor control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment to improve reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Basic electrical maintenance skills, including working safely with wiring, motor controllers, and circuit boards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small maintenance team, especially during night shift operations.
- Basic understanding of safety standards and procedures in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or a similar industrial setting.
- Experience with automation systems and industrial maintenance in a high-volume production environment.
- Exposure to working with non-climate-controlled facilities and comfort operating in varying temperature conditions.
- Welding skills for repair and light fabrication work on equipment and components.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on reducing downtime and improving production efficiency.
- Attention to detail and strong documentation skills for recording maintenance activities and equipment history.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond quickly to urgent maintenance needs.
- Interest in cross-training in other technical areas and developing broader maintenance capabilities over time.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a manufacturing facility operating on a night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, following a 2-2-3 (223) non-rotating continental schedule. You will work as part of a small, dedicated maintenance team in a non-climate-controlled environment, where temperatures can vary with the seasons. The work is physically demanding and involves standing, bending, lifting, and handling heavy equipment and components throughout the shift. You will regularly work around industrial machinery such as rollers, conveyors, motors, heat elements, automated cutters, and other automated systems, using tools and equipment for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-related tasks. Appropriate safety footwear, including steel-toe shoes or boots, is required, and the facility emphasizes adherence to safety and environmental regulations at all times.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.00/hr.
