Associate Scientist, Process Development (2025-025-395)
- Uses professional concepts in accordance with company objectives to solve a variety of problems.
- Demonstrates technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others, and ability to think independently.
- Works on problems of moderate scope in which analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors.
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Acts under general guidance to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
- Responsible for solutions to moderate problems and their presentation to management.
- Understands rationale for performing task within the scope of broader activities and analyzes complex data to draw conclusions.
- Interfaces with various departments, customers and partners.
- Trains others how to execute complex tasks.
- Contributes and/or writes documents that contain multiple sources of information, organized in a logical way so that others can understand with minimal supervision.
- Effectively prioritizes multiple tasks when time restraints are present.
- A PhD in a scientific discipline is required.
- Equivalent experience may be accepted.
- A minimum of 1-2 years work experience in a research and/or development environment is required.
- Post-doctoral work may serve as experience.
- Exceptional non-PhDs with demonstrated capabilities and/or significant experience may also be considered.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in scientific principles and concepts.
- Must be able to clearly communicate scientific information both written and oral.
- Must be able to compose sound written work.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences is required.
- Must be able to demonstrate sound judgment.
- Must be able to demonstrate problem solving capabilities.
- Strong organizational skills are required.
- Good computer skills are required.
- Working knowledge of MS word, Excel, Power point and CambridgeSoft Chem Office is a plus.
- Experience working in an FDA regulated environment and knowledge of current GMPs as they apply to laboratory practices are a plus.
- Must be willing and able to work as part of a team.
- Must be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check for employment consideration.
- Performance of tasks essential to the job function may require the employee to work directly with, handle, or otherwise come into contact with chemicals or pharmaceutical agents.
- Employees may be required to enroll in a medical surveillance program based on the potential exposure to certain health hazards encountered as a result of their job function.
