Mechanical Assembly Technician | Electronics Manufacturing | 4-Day Work Week
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembly Technician to support prototype and production operations in a high-reliability electronics manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for precision mechanical assembly, component preparation, inspection, testing, documentation, and machine changeover support.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with electronic assemblies, printed circuit boards, and precision manufacturing processes.
ResponsibilitiesPerform mechanical assembly operations in accordance with work instructions, engineering drawings, and customer requirements.
Follow all Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and work standards.
Interpret technical drawings, schematics, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
Inspect mechanical components and assemblies using microscopes and other inspection equipment.
Clean parts and assemblies throughout various stages of production.
Complete and maintain accurate production, inspection, and defect documentation.
Support machine setup and changeover activities.
Fabricate, inspect, measure, and sort coil inductors and related components.
Perform transformer component testing, measurement, sorting, and data collection.
Prepare BGA components using solder paste and solder spheres.
Perform component tinning utilizing solder pot equipment.
Apply masking materials to printed circuit boards and components prior to conformal coating operations.
Hand-load electronic components onto printed circuit boards.
Disassemble chassis and assemblies to support troubleshooting and repair activities.
Clean assemblies, remove debris, and replace labels as required.
Apply adhesives, coatings, sealants, and other compounds according to specifications.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on mechanical assembly experience in manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, defense, or a related industry.
Knowledge of electronic component identification and polarity.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
Experience using microscopes and precision inspection equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and assembly skills.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of quality.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to safely lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
Experience with PCB assembly, electro-mechanical assembly, or electronics manufacturing.
Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards.
Experience supporting aerospace, defense, military, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.
Experience with conformal coating, soldering processes, component preparation, or prototype assembly operations.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
Must be available to work a Monday–Thursday 4/10 schedule .
