Summary: The Aftersales Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining customer units after delivery. This role supports warranty work, retrofits, refurbishments, and general service tasks in the shop or occasionally in the field. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on trailers, vehicles, or equipment post-delivery
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and structural components.
- Complete warranty and retrofit work in accordance with company standards.
- Follow work orders and document completed repairs accurately.
- Communicate findings, concerns, and recommendations with service writers or supervisors.
- Maintain clean and safe working conditions in compliance with safety procedures.
- Assist with customer technical support as needed.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other shop equipment safely.
- Participate in ongoing training and cross-training within the service department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 - 2 years of experience in mechanical repair, preferably in automotive, trailer, or heavy equipment industries.
- Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and service instructions.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Must have welding experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Vocational or technical certification in diesel mechanics or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience in mechanical repair, preferably in automotive, trailer, or heavy equipment industries.
- Experience with welding and fabrication
- Prior experience with warranty and post-delivery service
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Physical Requirements
- Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
Work Environment
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.
