JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
Mobile Fixture and Equipment is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Data Entry Clerk to join our team in Mobile, Alabama. This role is responsible for accurately entering, updating, and maintaining critical business data across various systems. The ideal candidate will support our operations by ensuring timely and accurate entry of sales orders, purchase orders, invoices, and other essential records for the foodservice equipment and supply industry.
Essential Functions

1. Accurately enter data related to orders, inventory, and customer accounts into company systems.
2. Maintain up-to-date digital and physical records for sales, purchasing, and project files.
3. Review source documents for completeness and accuracy before entry.
4. Cross-reference data across multiple systems to ensure consistency and resolve discrepancies.
5. Generate reports, spreadsheets, and summaries as requested by managers.
6. Assist other departments with administrative tasks and data-related needs.
7. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive company and customer information responsibly.
8. Perform routine audits to verify data integrity.
Supervisory Responsibility
No supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in an indoor, office-type environment.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
1. Sitting:
· Prolonged periods (often 6–8 hours per day) of sitting at a desk or workstation.
2. Manual Dexterity:
· Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing on a keyboard and using a mouse.
· Repetitive motion may cause fatigue or strain over time if not ergonomically managed.
3. Visual Requirements:
· Extended periods of viewing a computer screen.
· Ability to read small print, view spreadsheets, and accurately input data.
4. Lifting & Carrying:
· Occasionally lift or carry items such as file boxes, office supplies, or paperwork (usually up to 10–15 pounds).
· May require bending or reaching to retrieve files from drawers or shelves.
5. Speaking & Hearing:
· Clear communication with coworkers and customers, either in person, by phone, or via email.
· Ability to hear and respond to office-related conversations and alerts.
6. Mobility:
· Minimal walking required (e.g., to printers, filing cabinets, or other workstations within an office).
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Travel
There are no travel required for this position.
Required Education and Experience
1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Experience
1. 1–2 years of experience in a data entry, clerical, or administrative support role.
2. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
3. Strong typing skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
4. Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
5. Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
1. Successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
2. Must have a valid driver's license.
3. Ability to listen and communicate (written and verbal) effectively.
4. Must have proper phone etiquette.
5. Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction.
6. Ability to protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
