Within the clinical laboratory, the Lab/diagnostic services span core chemistry, hematology, coagulation, microbiology, molecular, transfusion services, anatomic pathology support, POCT oversight, and a robust LIS integrated with the EHR, an ideal environment for a Director of Clinical Laboratory to drive Lean process improvement, standardize testing, and enhance turnaround times.

Reporting to a senior executive such as the Chief Operating Officer and partnering closely with the Laboratory Medical Director (Pathologist), the Lab Director will lead a seasoned team of supervisors, MT/MLS professionals, phlebotomy, and support staff while collaborating daily with friendly nurses and a diverse, team-oriented group of clinicians;. Responsibilities include strategic planning, CAP/CLIA and Joint Commission readiness, quality and safety programs, budget and capital planning, talent development, test utilization stewardship, antimicrobial stewardship collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives that advance patient-centered outcomes.
