The OTR CDL A Flatbed Company Driver will operate long-haul routes independently, handling standard flatbed loads with expertise in load securing and vehicle inspection. This role requires strong time management, safety compliance, and excellent communication skills to ensure timely and secure delivery while maintaining high customer service standards. The position offers a flexible schedule with weekly home time, emphasizing solo driving responsibility and consistent equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Operate flatbed trucks on long-haul routes, ensuring timely deliveries
- Secure loads effectively to maintain safety during transport
- Inspect vehicle and equipment before and after trips for safety compliance
- Navigate routes efficiently to optimize travel time and fuel use
- Maintain thorough and accurate paperwork and logs
- Perform routine maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly
- Communicate clearly with dispatch, customers, and management
- Manage time to meet delivery schedules and weekly home time expectations
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the delivery process
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of truck driving experience
- Valid CDL Class A license
- Experience operating flatbed trailers
- Proficiency in vehicle inspection and route planning
- Strong time management and safety compliance skills
- Knowledge of load securing techniques
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
