HVAC Technician(A and B tech needed) – Industrial Manufacturing Plant

Location: Cherokee, AL

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Compensation Range:

• Lead/A-Tech: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour (DOE)
• Service/B-Tech: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour (DOE)

About the Role

We are seeking two skilled HVAC Technicians (one Lead "A" level and one Service "B" level) to join our dedicated maintenance team at a major industrial manufacturing facility in Cherokee, AL.

Unlike traditional field service roles, this position is dedicated to a single site . You won't be chasing calls across the state; instead, you will become the subject matter expert for the facility's climate control, process cooling, and ventilation systems. This is a clean but industrial environment (paper/tissue manufacturing), requiring proactive maintenance and a high level of technical ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead/A-Tech: Provide site leadership, coordinate with the plant contact, and manage daily tasks for the maintenance team without needing constant external supervision.
• Maintenance & Repair: Service a wide variety of equipment including split systems (up to 60 tons), package units (up to 50 tons), cabinet coolers (1-ton), hanging heaters, and air rotation machines.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues in a fast-paced industrial setting.
• Preventative Maintenance: Manage filter changes and routine inspections to ensure 100% uptime for plant operations.
• Communication: Maintain a professional relationship with on-site facility managers, providing clear updates on system status.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years of commercial or light industrial HVAC experience preferred.
• Proximity: Must reside within a 45-minute drive of the Cherokee, AL plant
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting commercial units (1–60 tons). Familiarity with basic process chillers is a plus.
• Attributes: High level of maturity, strong communication skills, and a "merit-based" work ethic.
• Compliance: Must pass a technical exam, background check, drug screen, and MVR check.
