Genesis Industrial Staffing is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to support a fast-paced aviation maintenance and aircraft production environment in Mobile, AL. This position is responsible for maintaining the facility, shop equipment, tooling, and support systems to ensure safe, efficient operations while minimizing downtime. The ideal candidate has experience working in an industrial, aerospace, aviation, or manufacturing environment and takes pride in maintaining equipment to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facility systems, shop equipment, and specialized tooling.
• Conduct routine inspections of buildings, work areas, and maintenance equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Repair and maintain mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
• Maintain aircraft maintenance tooling, support equipment, and workstations in accordance with company procedures.
• Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance on tooling used in aircraft production and maintenance operations.
• Support Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention by inspecting work areas and tooling before, during, and after maintenance activities.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, replacement parts, and consumables.
• Coordinate waste removal, recycling, and hazardous material disposal in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, and work orders.
• Issue, inspect, and track employee tool kits and company equipment.
• Prepare tool kits and equipment for new employees.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe production areas, hangars, maintenance shops, breakrooms, and common areas.
• Assist with facility improvement projects and other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, aviation maintenance support, or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude with experience maintaining industrial equipment and tooling.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, work instructions, and technical drawings.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented production environment.
• Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts when production demands require.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders or stairs.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Work indoors and outdoors in an industrial aviation environment.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Ability to work around aircraft, heavy machinery, and production equipment while following all safety procedures.

Preferred Experience

• Aviation, aerospace, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul), or aircraft manufacturing experience.
• Experience supporting aircraft hangars, production facilities, or industrial manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of FOD prevention practices and aviation safety standards.
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance software or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
