Academic Support
- Assist students with homework, providing added teaching and strengthening grade-level skills
- Provide students with supplemental academic content, especially in reading and math
- Incorporate hands-on learning techniques, games, etc. to reinforce academic skills
- Read to/with students and encourage engagement in reading
- Oversee projects to reinforce learning and create interest and excitement
- Follow, maintain, and adjust to daily plans. Help serve lunch and monitor students
- Oversee students during outside activity time
- Oversee daily dismissal, ensuring that no student is released to an adult other than one pre-registered as cleared for that student’s pick up
- Ensure that the classroom is tidied and ready for other programs at the end of each session
- Unquestionable integrity and honesty
- Team player, capable of working jointly with others and inspiring collaboration
- Warm and engaging, capable of attracting the cooperation of young children
- Energetic and creative, able to develop and pursue a robust future for the Missions NPYP education program
- Committed to improving the education and lives of the poorest of the poor and to the future of Selma
