Position Overview: Vice President of Operations – Fleet & Transportation

We’re seeking a strategic and results-driven Vice President of Operations to lead one of our core urban markets. This executive role is ideal for a seasoned leader with deep expertise in fleet operations, compliance, and team management. You’ll be responsible for driving operational performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and scaling service delivery in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.

Your Role:

As VP of Operations, you will oversee the financial and operational success of a major metropolitan market. Your leadership will be key in optimizing fleet performance, maintaining compliance, and fostering a high-performing team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Direct all operational functions to meet and exceed performance goals
• Financial Management: Own P&L accountability, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
• Regulatory Oversight: Ensure full compliance with DOT and all applicable transportation regulations
• Fleet Optimization: Manage vehicle availability, maintenance schedules, and operational efficiency
• Team Development: Recruit, train, and lead teams of employees and independent contractors
• Market Expansion: Identify growth opportunities and execute strategies to increase market share
• Talent Strategy: Drive hiring, retention, and development of key personnel
• Performance Analytics: Monitor KPIs and deliver actionable insights to senior leadership

What You Bring:

• Proven leadership experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet operations
• Strong financial acumen with direct P&L and budget oversight
• Deep understanding of transportation safety and regulatory compliance
• Ability to lead large, distributed teams across diverse employment models
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with fleet management systems preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Transportation, Operations, or related field strongly preferred
