Tocaro Blue is a passionate team bringing real innovation to the recreational marine industry. Our flagship product is PROTEUS; a hardware device that combines sensor information from the vessel's RADAR, depth transducer, and various data sets with AI/ML models. This information appears as an intuitive display, enabling confidence and enhanced awareness for the captain.

We are looking for a Graphics Programmer whose primary role will be the continued development of our 2D and 3D environments, optimizing the graphics pipeline to run on specific hardware, and creating new, innovative ways to display critical navigation information to the user. This position will work closely with both our engineering and art teams to ensure that PROTEUS and future products run smoothly and look fantastic.

Responsibilities

• (Primary) Optimizing graphics rendering pipeline for specific hardware (QML, GLSL, OpenGL)
• (Secondary) Creating 2D and 3D assets for marine displays (Photoshop, Blender)
• Develop your own work plans to align with the PROTEUS product roadmap

Requirements

• Confident writing programs and solving technical problems independently
• Ability to read someone else's code and understand it
• Ability to plan a computer program before sitting down to write code
• BS in Computer Science, Game Development, or related field
• 2+ years experience developing 2D/3D games or applications, with strong portfolio

Nice to Have

• Experience with development for Linux based platforms
• Familiarity with Intel® UHD Graphics, and optimization on low-end hardware
• Personal projects, or hobby interest, in solving real-world problems with software
• Recreational marine experience or interest

Compensation & Commitment

• $82,000 salary
• 401(k) with matching (up to 4% of salary), Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability Insurance
• In-house training on tools and techniques
• Ability to work on US Government Contracts (typically limited to US Citizens)
• Open to temporary or permanent remote working arrangements if based in the Southeast
Occasional travel (daytrips)
