Busy neurology private practice seeks a full-time Medical Receptionist to manage patient check-out, appointment scheduling, and referral coordination. This role involves handling a high patient volume (20-50 daily), scheduling various diagnostic tests, and managing communications via phone. Proficiency with Athena EMR system and prior medical office experience are essential. Benefits included.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient scheduling and appointment confirmations
- Manage patient referrals and insurance verifications
- Schedule diagnostic testing using Athena EMR system
- Process patient check-outs and handle billing inquiries
- Answer and direct phone calls with professional telephone etiquette
- Maintain accurate data entry and electronic health records
- Provide excellent customer service within a busy medical office
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in medical reception
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Strong customer service and telephone skills
- Accurate data entry and organizational abilities
