Davidson is seeking a Logistician to support the SCALE (Supply Chain Analytics and Logistics Environment) development program in Huntsville, Alabama. SCALE is a data-driven analytics platform integrating procurement, logistics, and forecast operations to enable predictive and prescriptive decision-making for the Department of War. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient supply chain processes, tracking and confirming material deliveries, and optimizing storage and distribution to meet operational goals. This individual may also help drive mission success in support of other customers.
The Logistician will be a primary point of contact between the customer and the supplier base while keeping customers and Davidson senior leaders informed of performance, risk, and opportunities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and process improvements
- Coordinate with procurement and transportation teams to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
- Act as the main liaison with suppliers, communicating requirements and expediting deliveries
- Report key supply‑chain metrics, risk assessments, and improvement ideas to senior stakeholders
- Monitor supplier performance, conduct corrective‑action follow‑up, and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-3 years of related experience
- Customer focus and collaboration skills
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Desired Competencies:
- Experience working with international shipping and customs compliance
- Experience working with Air Force customers
- Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities
Clearance:
- Must currently hold or be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance (not required to start)
