Job Purpose

Counter sales will increase sales and customer satisfaction by efficiently and courteously assisting

walk-in and telephone customers in the selection and acquisition of needed products.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Service customers at the counter by taking orders and entering them into the system

accurately

• Retrieve orders from warehouse quickly and accurately

• Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales

and offering promotional sales items as well as new products

• Handle customer complaints and returns, while showing a positive attitude.

• Check and monitor return rack

• Keep merchandising and counter areas clean and attractive

• Assist in physical inventory counts and cycle counting

• Work with other departments to resolve customer service issues in a timely manner

• Assist in warehouse when needed

• Pull will call orders and have staged

• Assist in inside sales when needed

• Scan PO's into system

• Make deliveries when needed

• Help with fixture quotes

• Manage the cash box & make bank deposits

• Follow company policies and procedures

• All other duties, as assigned. Regular and appropriate attendance is an essential function

of this and all positions at APS.

• High school diploma/GED required

• Associate degree preferred

• Minimum 2 years in similar position preferred

• Product/applications experience required

• Wholesale distribution experience required

Certifications and Licenses

• Forklift

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

This role routinely uses stand office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing

cabinets, and fax machines. Ability to climb stairs, descend stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch,

crawl, reach, handle, feel, speak, and hear. Ability to life/carry/maneuver heavy material or

equipment (up to 50 pounds).
