A growing veterinary compounding pharmacy in Moulton, AL seeks a dedicated Staff Pharmacist with a strong interest in equine or veterinary/animal compounding. This contract role offers a temp-to-hire opportunity for candidates eager to deliver exceptional care to animal patients and take on a leadership position within the pharmacy.

Responsibilities include supervising 3–4 pharmacy technicians, verifying prescriptions, managing 25–30 regularly reordered formularies, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy policies and quality standards. You will collaborate closely with the team to maintain efficient daily operations and provide leadership focused on high-quality patient care. Additional support with inventory and operational tasks will be required.

The pharmacy primarily handles non-sterile compounding with some sterile prescriptions processed, shipping approximately 200+ prescriptions daily. The team consists of four pharmacists, each overseeing multiple technicians. Technology platforms in use include PK Software for compounding order entry and QuickBooks Online for invoicing, with a transition to Pharmetica planned this fall.

Ideal candidates will have:

• An active pharmacist license meeting state requirements
• Experience specifically in equine or veterinary/animal compounding (human compounding alone is insufficient)
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills
