Active Registered Respiratory Tech (RRT) license and 2+ years of in-patient hospital Respiratory Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) opportunity is available for experienced professionals in respiratory care. This contract role provides critical support within a high-capacity adult respiratory therapy department at a prominent hospital located in Alabaster, AL.

Responsibilities include delivering acute respiratory care primarily during night shifts, managing patients in a 14-bed ICU with additional non-acute areas, and supporting the main adult hospital and occasionally the Free Standing ER. The role requires proficient operation of advanced respiratory equipment such as Servo I ventilators, V60, Vapotherm, and RapidPoint ABG, while documenting care in the Cerner EMR system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive respiratory therapy to neuro and cardiac patients in an ICU setting.
• Collaborate as part of a multi-therapist team to ensure seamless patient care.
• Maintain strict adherence to time and attendance policies.
• Demonstrate flexibility by supporting different units as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) with active BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications.
• Minimum of 3 years acute care respiratory therapy experience at a large healthcare facility.
• Night shift experience on units with a staffing level of four or more therapists preferred.
• Strong time management skills and commitment to quality care.
• Team player with a professional approach to workplace policies, including dress code adherence.

Schedule:

• 3 x 12-hour night shifts, 18:45 to 07:15
• Approximately 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Typically working every third weekend with occasional every other weekend shifts
• No call requirements

Professional attire includes black scrubs with specifications to nail and jewelry policies to maintain a safe care environment.
