Database Engineer

This position provides engineering support to the design, development, and testing of a Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) system for a rocket that is the cornerstone of an exciting space program in the new era of human exploration beyond Earth’s orbit. This position supports the development and integration of Global Positioning System (GPS) and Inertial Navigation System (INS) components, and responsibilities can include supporting component testing, conducting GNC system analyses, analyzing test and vendor data, verifying requirements, coordinating with component vendors and the NASA customer, writing reports, and resolving issues. The candidate will work with other GNC engineers to develop the system and ensure the design meets requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• Minimum one year of experience with aerospace avionics, such as GPS receivers and INS sensors
• Ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance
• Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of data exchange protocols, such as MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, and Ethernet
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
• Experience with GNC systems that control rocket flight
• Experience with the systems engineering and integration process, from requirements development through product deployment
• Active DoD secret clearance
