Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for a Missile Defense System Architecture Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Assess Missile Defense (MD) threats, capability gaps, challenges, needs, and opportunities, and develop potential system mitigations and capability evolutions at the architecture level.

• Support the above efforts by sourcing, generating, and organizing engineered threat data; developing threat scenarios; and reviewing current threat intelligence reports.

• Support analysis efforts of MDS architecture studies on the DoD High Performance Computing (HPC).

• Support Missile Defense Wargaming efforts.

• Review and provide quality assurance of team analysis products before delivery; mentor younger engineers.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Master’s degree in STEM and 12+ years of experience.

• Extensive knowledge of the current MDS architecture and/or foreign missile systems.

• Experience with Excel and data analysis.

• Experience with MATLAB.

• Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance.

• Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Specialized MDS analysis experience in: threat characterization, trajectories, RF sensing/signatures, and/or EO/IR sensing/signatures.

• Experience with M&S and analysis of MDS architectures involving future concepts.

• Experience with TGx, HPC Systems, Python, and Git is a plus.

• Experience with BMD Benchmark.

• Experience with large datasets and data organization methods.

• Experience working in the Missile Defense Agency.
