Position Summary

The Payroll Coordinator / Financial Specialist Assistant / HR Payroll Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll , while supporting human resources, on-boarding, and daily business office functions.

What You’ll Do

Payroll (Primary Focus)

1. Process payroll accurately and on time
2. Collect, calculate, and enter employee time and pay data
3. Ensure compliance with payroll policies and regulations
4. Respond to payroll-related questions and maintain confidentiality
5. Review and resolve payroll discrepancies

HR & On-boarding

1. Assist with on-boarding new hires (background checks, drug screens, I-9, E-Verify)
2. Process and enter new employee information into payroll system
3. Distribute benefits information and support employee documentation
4. Conduct WOTC process and assist with new hire orientation tasks
5. Maintain and audit personnel files

Administrative & Office Support

1. Answer phones, greet visitors, and assist with clerical duties
2. Maintain organized records and filing systems
3. Generate reports related to payroll, attendance, and HR functions
4. Serve as liaison between employees and HR, Benefits, and Accounting
5. Support overall business office operations

Compliance & Reporting

1. Complete Workers’ Compensation reports and OSHA logs
2. Track employee leave and assist with leave management
3. Support audits and regulatory compliance processes

Qualifications

1. 3–5 years of payroll and/or accounting experience required
2. Associate’s degree in business or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
3. Knowledge of payroll systems ( UKG experience a plus )
4. Understanding of federal and state payroll regulations
5. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
6. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy
7. Professional communication and interpersonal skills
