Job Details:

• Work night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Option for 4x12 hour shifts available
• Must work at least 1 of the 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day
• Float to like units as needed
• Possible charge nurse responsibilities as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for adult and geriatric populations
• 30-bed medical surgical unit with 30-minute lunch required - no skipped meals
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Alabama nursing license required
• Current BLS via AHA and Fit Test required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Skills include: IV starts, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac, colostomy care and management, feeding tube care and management, blood product administration, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, heparin administration, insulin administration, PCA management, surgical drains, nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Must adhere to call-in policy and complete required modules during orientation

This healthcare facility operates a 30-bed medical surgical unit providing comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients with regular medical surgical diagnoses. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary support. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and requires strict adherence to safety protocols and meal break policies.
