Facility Highlights- Beds: 252‑bed acute care facility
- Shelby Hospital serves as a key community and referral hospital for Shelby County, offering advanced services without requiring patients to travel into downtown Birmingham
- Shelby Hospital operates multiple ICU‑level care areas embedded within specialty services:
- Medical/Surgical ICU
- Cardiac ICU/Critical Care
- EPIC EMR for efficient documentation
Position Details
- Flexible block schedule model
- Full-time day shift: 6a-6p
- Competitive compensation package
- Critical care background is required
- Procedure experience highly preferred; no intubations or chest tubes required
- Typical responsibilities: acute issues, admissions, consults, and emergency procedures (central and arterial lines); anesthesia team in-house for intubations
- Average Census: 15
- No solo clinician coverage required
