At this time, SCI is recruiting highly qualified candidates whose background and career goals meet our needs for the following position in Huntsville, AL. Please note that due to Department of Defense contract requirements, U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED.
Primary Purpose and Focus
The main objective is to drive rapid growth for SCI, specifically by taking the products business segment to the next level of success. The role demands strong business development and management skills—more so than technical expertise—to identify, qualify, and win new business from both new and existing customers to meet and exceed revenue and margin targets.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Strategy & Growth
○ Developing and executing winning strategies for new business capture.
○ Leading Business Development Campaigns for the Products Business segment.
○ Assisting in the development of long-term business and marketing strategy for SCI.
○ Establishing strategic business development initiatives
○ Performing due diligence and market analysis for proposed new offerings.
Customer & Relationship Management
○ Developing C-level relationships with key Aerospace & Defense Industry executives, Government, and Congressional personnel.
○ Cultivating relationships to establish SCIs consultative approach and promote its total solution capabilities
○ Understanding and directing customers toward appropriate SCI products or services for vertical and horizontal integration.
Operations & Management
○ Planning and directing multiple capture efforts while monitoring budget/spending.
○ Managing sales, budget, and forecast information.
○ Leading a small staff of business development managers
○ Maintaining intimate knowledge of government budget, budgeting, and procurement processes.
Team Collaboration
○ Engaging with and leveraging cross-functional teams (engineering, finance, contracts, proposal development) for successful business execution.
○ Participating in proposal development, pricing presentations, and order closing.
Required Qualifications And Experience
- Education: Bachelors degree or higher, Masters preferred
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years of proven business development experience in the Defense & Aerospace industry.
- Skills: Strong business acumen, demonstrable relationship building skills, solid negotiation skills, and strong communication, presentation, and business writing skills.
- Clearance: A current security clearance or eligibility/ability to obtain one is required.
○ Military experience (a plus).
- Software: Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Travel: Availability for frequent travel, both domestically and internationally.
