A growing veterinary compounding pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist to join their team in Vinemont, AL. This temp-to-hire position offers an immediate start and is an excellent opportunity for pharmacists with a passion for animal care, especially those interested in veterinary and equine compounding. New graduates with compounding interest are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support a team of 3–4 pharmacy technicians.
• Verify prescriptions and oversee daily pharmacy operations.
• Manage and review 25–30 regularly reordered formularies to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure strict adherence to pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with the pharmacy team to maintain smooth workflow and operational efficiency.
• Provide leadership while maintaining a strong focus on animal patient care.
• Assist with inventory management and operational oversight as needed.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Pharmacist license meeting state requirements.
• Experience in equine or veterinary/animal compounding is essential; human compounding experience alone is not sufficient.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage pharmacy technicians effectively.
• Excellent work ethic, ownership mentality, and willingness to go above and beyond.
• Quick learner who can adapt to a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Commitment to delivering exceptional care for animal patients and consistently following established processes.

About the Pharmacy:

• Specializes in veterinary/equine compounding, primarily non-sterile with some sterile prescriptions.
• Processes approximately 200+ prescriptions daily.
• Uses PK Software for compounding order entry and QuickBooks Online for invoicing.
• Transitioning to Pharmetica software in the near future.
• Team includes 4 pharmacists, each supervising 3–4 technicians.
