1. Operational Oversight
- Supervise daily laboratory operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with protocols.
- Maintain inventory and ensure timely ordering of supplies and reagents by submitting to the Practice Manager.
- Schedule and coordinate maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Monitor laboratory cleanliness and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Enforce adherence to laboratory safety protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA, CAP, OSHA).
- Oversee quality control and assurance programs to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Maintain documentation and logs for audits, inspections, and quality reviews.
- Provide guidance and technical support to lab staff on procedures, troubleshooting, and instrumentation.
- Assist in validating and implementing new tests or equipment.
- Review test results, troubleshoot discrepancies, and escalate issues as needed.
- Oversee technical training for laboratory staff on new equipment, safety practices, and updated procedures.
- Evaluate and verify staff competency on laboratory processes and equipment.
- Act as the liaison between the laboratory and other departments or vendors regarding workflow, test availability, and technical inquiries.
- Attend and contribute to operational and departmental meetings.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with clinicians and other staff regarding lab operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required records, logs, and reports.
- Assist in the preparation of operational reports for management as requested.
