We are seeking a contract Occupational Therapist for the upcoming school year to provide specialized services in a school-based setting near Birmingham, AL. This role is ideal for a skilled professional with a passion for helping students achieve greater independence and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students' functional needs and develop individualized treatment plans to enhance their access to education
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to implement strategies that support students’ IEP goals
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services tailored to each student’s strengths and areas for growth
- Maintain thorough documentation of student progress, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with school policies
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and team discussions
- Help foster a positive and inclusive school environment for all learners
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Current license (or eligibility) to practice Occupational Therapy in Alabama
- Previous experience providing OT services in a school or pediatric setting
- Familiarity with special education processes, IEP documentation, and school team collaboration
- Strong communication skills and adaptability working with diverse student populations
- Dedicated, organized, and detail-oriented with a student-centered approach
