Position: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Huntsville, AL
Type: 12+ Month Contract (Potential for Direct Hire)
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday – Friday | Onsite
Compensation: $35–$50/hour (Depending on Experience)
Clearance Requirements: Must be eligible to work on DoD projects
Pre-Employment: Must pass drug screen and background check

We are hiring a Mechanical Engineer to support a Department of Defense (DoD) client in Huntsville, AL. This role is focused on production support and development of trailer-mounted power and water purification systems. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineer who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute throughout the full product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering support for production activities and prototype development

• Contribute to all phases of the product lifecycle — from concept and design through manufacturing and delivery

• Collaborate closely with designers, technicians, and manufacturing engineers to ensure quality, efficiency, and on-time execution

• Troubleshoot and resolve urgent technical issues affecting production or prototype builds

• Design and improve trailer power and water purification systems with a focus on manufacturability and reliability

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline

• Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD

• Experience in a production or manufacturing environment (preferred)

• Strong understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM)

• Experience with trailer power systems and/or water purification technologies (a plus)

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to respond effectively under pressure

• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within cross-functional team
