Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher position is available in Decatur, AL, focused on elementary-aged students. This contract role offers a structured 37.5-hour workweek spread over 5 days, with an immediate start date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instructional support tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities within elementary grades.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with school staff and families.
- Monitor and document student progress while adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning abilities.
- Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with parents and educational professionals.
Qualifications:
- Valid licensure in Special Education K-6 or PK-3.
- Previous experience working in a school setting with a focus on special education.
- Strong understanding of educational strategies tailored to children with special needs.
- Effective communication skills and dedication to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
