Mid-Level ISSO

Location: Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL
Clearance Required: Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI Eligibility
Travel Required: Up to 10%

LaunchTech is seeking a Mid-Level Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This role supports system authorization, continuous monitoring, and compliance activities for SAP environments, ensuring adherence to DoD security requirements and risk management frameworks.

What You’ll Be Doing

Risk Management & Compliance

• Perform verified risk assessments covering all security controls aligned with Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG) methodologies

• Develop and maintain artifacts supporting Control Validation Tests (CVTs) to confirm compliance with Authorizations to Operate (ATOs) for SAP packages

• Monitor and assist with implementation of required security controls

Audit, STIG & Vulnerability Management

• Conduct hands-on audits across Windows and Linux systems

• Interpret and apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) using STIG Viewer

• Conduct routine audit management activities

• Monitor and validate patch management activities

• Monitor and validate endpoint security controls

POA&M, Metrics & Reporting

• Manage and monitor Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) effectively

• Develop security metrics and reporting artifacts

• Clearly articulate security metrics, risks, and compliance posture to stakeholders

What You Bring

Basic Requirements:

• Must have 4, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience

  • May be reduced with completion of advanced education

• Must have 2, or more, years of directly related ISSO or cybersecurity experience

• Must have 1, or more, years of experience working in a management or leadership role

• Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+)

• Must have a current DoD 8570.01 IAM Level II certification (e.g., CGRC (CAP) or SecurityX (CASP+ CE))

• Must have an active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI Eligibility

Desired Requirements:

• Have proficiency and experience working with Windows and Linux system operating systems

• Have experience using SolarWinds Security Event Manager (SEM)
