Youth Soccer Coach - Part-Time
Position Summary:
The Youth Coach is responsible for leading a designated age group team within the club’s academy structure. The coach will design and deliver high-quality training sessions, oversee match preparation and performance, and support the holistic development of players in alignment with the club’s philosophy and development standards. This position plays a critical role in guiding players through the club’s pathway and preparing them for higher levels of play, including professional and collegiate opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
Player & Team Development
- Plan and execute age-appropriate, periodized training sessions consistent with the club’s playing philosophy and methodology.
- Focus on individual player development within the team context through Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
- Foster a competitive, player-centered environment that emphasizes technical excellence, tactical intelligence, and resilience.
- Lead the team in all matches, showcases, and tournaments.
Culture & Leadership
- Uphold and model the club’s values on and off the field, promoting professionalism, discipline, and respect.
- Build a positive team culture that balances competitiveness with character development.
- Serve as a mentor to players, supporting their growth as athletes and young men.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the Head Academy Coach and Director of Coaching to ensure alignment with club methodology and long-term player development plans.
- Provide regular performance feedback to players and families, balancing encouragement with accountability.
- Collaborate with other academy staff (athletic trainers, performance staff, analysts, etc.) to monitor player welfare and progress.
Administration & Compliance
- Maintain accurate player evaluations, training logs, and game reports as required by the academy.
- Ensure compliance with league rules, game-day protocols, and safeguarding standards.
- Assist with tryouts, talent identification, and player recruitment.
Qualifications:
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Minimum of USSF D License or equivalent (C License or higher preferred).
- Commitment to ongoing coaching education (USSF, United Soccer Coaches, or equivalent).
- Experience:
- Proven track record coaching at the academy, elite club, or collegiate level.
- Demonstrated success developing players for higher levels of competition.
- Background as a competitive player preferred.
- Skills & Attributes:
- Strong understanding of youth player development and long-term player pathways.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage a high-performance environment while prioritizing player welfare.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable.
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a background check and comply with all safeguarding requirements.
- Availability for evening and weekend training sessions, matches, travel, and showcases.
- Willingness to contribute to broader academy initiatives, including clinics, camps, and community events.
