Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt lessons to accommodate multiple learning styles and abilities
- Excellent communication skills for working with students, families, and staff
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans in alignment with IEP goals
- Provide direct instruction to students with exceptionalities in inclusive and self-contained settings
- Maintain accurate records to monitor student progress and document interventions
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and counselors for student success
- Facilitate IEP meetings, communicating progress and strategies with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom climate that celebrates diversity
