Network Engineer Principal

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for a Network Engineer Principal to support the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Common Services (CS) team. This position is based at Maxwell Air Force Base-Gunter Annex, Montgomery, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

The Network Engineer Principal shall have responsibilities to advise and support work that involves the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked IT systems. Functions required to be performed by individuals in this specialty may include:

• Analyzing and recommending cloud infrastructure requirements;
• Recommending and maintaining network architecture and infrastructure;
• Analyzing network workload;
• Monitoring network capacity and performance;
• Diagnosing and resolving network problems;
• Recommending network backup and recovery procedures; and/or,
• Installing, testing, maintaining, and upgrading network operating systems software, and/or ensuring the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Advanced Degree (MA/MS) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other Engineering Discipline and five (5) years of experience, three (3) of which must be in the DoD; or, a BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other Engineering Discipline and 7 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, four (4) of which must be in the DoD; or,15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications, eight (8) of which must be in the DoD.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience developing, deploying, or maintaining operational cloud (OCI, AWS and/or Azure) environments with an emphasis on federal or DoD systems (GovCloud, Cloud1); and Cloud Certification preferred, relevant to position, product(s) support.
• CompTIA Security+ Certification.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time. US travel only.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 8140 Certification; CompTIA Security+ CE (or higher).
• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure experience.
