Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business License Supervisor to join our team in Birmingham, AL. As the Business License Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the issuance and renewal of business licenses, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You will also be responsible for managing a team of license specialists and providing guidance and support to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the issuance and renewal of business licenses
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Manage a team of license specialists
- Provide guidance and support to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the licensing process
- Monthly Productivity reporting
- Training/Coaching/Motivating
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree in business administration, Public Administration, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in business licensing or a related field
- Experience managing team/call center management
- Strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working in a government agency
- Experience with licensing software
- Experience with process improvement initiatives
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide guidance to your team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with other departments and provide exceptional customer service.
- Ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
- Streamline our processes and improve our services.
- Strong Interpersonal skills and ability to speak effectively with customers and employees.
- Ability to proofread correspondence, detect and correct, errors; read and interpret documents, create procedural manuals.
- Effectively work using Microsoft office suite, TEAMS, Excel.
Work Environment :
- Office setting with a moderate noise level.
- The employee will work at an individual workstation, using a telephone and computer.
Physical Demands :
- Must be able to remain seated for extended periods.
- Regular use of a computer and other office machinery, such as printers and copy machines.
- Occasional movement around the office.
- Frequent communication via telephone.
