Resident Engineer - Wire Harness
Location: Austin, TX
Duration: 6-month contract (W2)
Pay Rate: $46.00/hr
- Wire harness experience is required. Candidates without this experience will not be considered.
Position Overview
The Resident Engineer - Wire Harness will serve as the primary liaison between the customer plant and the manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for resolving quality concerns, supporting containment activities, and ensuring effective communication between the customer and internal teams.
- Act as the on-site liaison between the customer plant and internal manufacturing teams
- Perform first-level analysis of non-conforming materials and quality issues
- Verify suspect product and maintain product test equipment
- Coordinate and execute initial 24-hour containment activities and escalate as needed
- Expedite non-conforming material back to the manufacturing facility (same-day turnaround)
- Enter and manage data within the Incident Reporting System (IRS)
- Provide technical support and system knowledge to internal and external stakeholders
- Serve as a key member of response and problem-resolution teams
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships within the plant
- Monitor and support customer metrics, including Return Parts Per Million (PPM) rates
- Coordinate special event activities and support continuous improvement efforts
- Prepare and submit weekly status/trip reports
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
- 6-10+ years of related engineering or manufacturing experience
- Technical Skills:
- Strong experience with wire harness products/components (required)
- Experience in quality analysis, containment, and problem resolution
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Excel, Word, and email systems
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field
